The Role (your impact)
You’ll be the legal backbone of a fast-moving startup.
Your mission: keep our company protected, structured, and compliant as we scale.

You will:

  • Audit current contracts & processes: find gaps, risks, inconsistencies.

  • Craft clear legal templates: employment, contractor, partner agreements, NDAs, and more.

  • Review incoming contracts: ensure compliance, fairness, and alignment with our interests.

  • Support labour-law questions: obligations, disputes, rights, safe processes, terminations.

  • Handle corporate/private-law tasks: requirements checks, obligations analysis, compliance questions.

  • Research fast & clearly: when a new problem appears — you find the correct legal angle and propose solutions.

  • Set up internal legal systems: contract flow, document standards, safe communication patterns.

What to Expect:

  • High-intensity first month: contract audit, process review, template building.

  • After onboarding: stable 0.25–0.3 FTE workload + flexible consulting on-demand.

  • Startup reality: unexpected questions, urgent tasks, fast decision-making.

  • Ownership: you influence how our company operates legally.

  • Independence: trust, clarity, and responsibility from day one.

You Are:

  • An LLB (3rd year) or LLM student in Dutch Law (Privaatrecht, Arbeidsrecht, Corporate Law — strong plus).

  • Someone who can turn legal complexity into simple, actionable recommendations.

  • Fast-thinking, structured, proactive, and calm under uncertainty.

  • Experienced in Rechtswinkel / law clinics / internships (a big advantage).

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

Must-Haves (non-negotiable)
We are specifically looking for someone with strong knowledge and understanding of Dutch law, including:

  • Labour law (arbeidsrecht)

  • Corporate and private law

  • Contract law

  • GDPR / data protection basics

  • General compliance & obligations

This role is not for someone who “just studies law” — we need someone who really understands how Dutch legal frameworks work in practice and can apply them.
